Versace Are Going Fur-Free

Versace Are Going Fur-Free

Donatella Versace has stated in a recent interview that she would no longer use real animal fur in any of her designs. Donatella was quoted saying "Fur? I’m out of that. I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion. It doesn’t feel right."

This huge development towards a fur-free fashion world comes after Surge activists protested the Versace Spring/Summer 2018 show at London Fashion Week in September 2017. This advancement from Versace demonstrates a changing attitude towards the use of animals for clothing and although Donatella Versace and other designers need to be educated on the fact that animals also die for leather, wool, silk and down - progress is certainly being made.
